Yes, it may sound very strange to hear but it really happens. There are countless number of such creatures in nature that die immediately or within a few hours after having sex. Such creatures spend their whole life comfortably but they do not know that their first intimate day would be their last day.
Why does this
happen after all? Scientists do not know the reason for this unique
natural phenomenon, but they believe that this happens to make the existence of
those animals and their living conditions favorable. Some male animals do
not help in raising the children and their existence does not bring any benefit
to the family. On the contrary, they continue to consume the food
available for the family. In such conditions, if the males die after
breeding, the availability of food for the family becomes easier. Some
scientists also believe that in many species such a system has been created by
nature to control their population.
So let's talk
about some such organisms that die after reproduction:
Bee (drones)
The male bees (also called drone) living in the hive also die within a few hours after mating with the queen bee. There are only 100 to 200 drones in the entire hive, whose job is only to have sex with the queen bee. Apart from this, they do not have any other work to do in the hive. They neither know how to eat honey nor they can clean themselves, female bees do the work of feeding and cleaning them. The queen bee can have sex with many drones at one time, after the sexual process, those drones shed their wings and die within a few hours. Apart from this, whatever drones are left in the hive, all the female bees together drive them away. After leaving the hive, these drones also die of cold and hunger.
Eel fish
The eel fish found
in America also becomes a victim of death after breeding. The reason for
this has not been known to scientists till date. It takes an eel 20 years
to become an adult and they lay 30 million eggs at a time. But the day of
laying eggs is their last day. Today, the population of this species has
remained very low due to over-fishing for meat in America. Scientists are
concerned that these creatures may become extinct soon and if they got extinct,
the reason for their death after breeding might be an unsolved mystery.
Salmon fish
Octopus
The octopus of the
species “Graneledone Boreopacifica”, living in the depth of thousands of feet
of the sea, also die soon after reproduction. Male octopuses die soon
after breeding and females live for a long time thereafter. The female
octopus of this species is best known as the mother who keeps her eggs in front
of her eyes never moving away from her until they hatch. According to a
report, the female takes care of her youngs straight for 53 months, and during
this time she only looks and nurtures the little youngs. For these 53
months, she does not eat anything, due to which she also dies of hunger.
Chamaeleon
Trans Volcanic Lizard
The Trans Volcanic Lizard found in Mexico also does not survive long after their breeding. They become mature for sex within 5 months and the male dies about 10 minutes after having sex while the female lives for about 2 months and sometimes more also. The reason behind his death like this is natural, which scientists have not yet understood.
Australian
red-back spider
The male redback spider found in Australia has a very strange
ending. These male spiders are killed and eaten by the female spider after
breeding. Males also know that after mating they will be
killed. Despite this, the male makes himself available to the
female. This is a form of suicide that male spiders adopt with their
consent. For this reason, the lifespan of the male of this species is much
shorter than that of the female.
Mantis

The death of a
cricket-looking like creature, the male mantis, is very painful, and that too
during its first mating. The size of the male mantis is smaller than that
of the female. The female mantis bites off the male's head before mating
or during mating, causing the male to die after mating. The reason behind
the females doing this is also very interesting, it has been discovered by the
scientists that when the head of the male is chopped off, they vibrate and
whisper loudly, which increases the chances of successful mating. Thus
mating becomes successful but this mating causes the death of the male mantis.
