Today, if you ask any student about Thomas Alva Edison, it cannot happen that he does not know. Edison had discovered the light bulb that removes the darkness and in his discovery of the bulb, he performed his experiments about 10000 times. Yes, you are reading it right 10000 times… then it was able to become a working bulb. It is true that doing research takes a lot of patience, if you were in his place, how many times would you try?
When his experiment to make a bulb was successful,
everyone in his lab became very happy. Edison was also very happy that
day. He called a boy from his office and asked him to test the bulb. The
boy got nervous. It seems the normal thing that the bulb which Edison had made
after experimenting 10000 times, how could a normal boy do it in just one
go. During the experiment, the bulb accidentally fell from the boy's hand
and he was very afraid that now Edison would scold him a lot and even fire him,
but Edison did not do anything like that.
Edison had found a way to make a bulb, he called the same boy again and asked him to do the same experiment again. All Edison's companions were very surprised and could not understand why Edison was calling the same boy again for the experiment when a bulb had already fallen while experimenting with that boy and it may fall again.
When they could not control their emotion, they
went directly to Edison and started asking about calling that boy one more time,
that he had ruined your hard-made bulb earlier and why are you calling that experiment
once again. Edison said that I will remake the bulb in 24 hours he dropped, but
if I do not give that boy a chance to do it again, he will lose his confidence
and self-esteem which will be very hard to get back and I don't want to let
that happen. In fact, when that boy did the same experiment again, he was
completely successful in doing so. So friends, now perhaps you must have also
understood that from where did this great scientist gather courage and
patience to do the same experiment 10000 times. You would probably give up
after 10 times and give up the idea of making a bulb. If Edison had done
this, then think, would we have got the light of a twinkling bulb
today? In addition to the bulb, Edison had discovered telephone
transmitters, phonographs, motion picture cameras, record technology as well as
many more.
