Madame Curie could not buy her own radium

In today's world, human society has become so greedy and selfish that whatever it gets, it seems less for them. He considers what he has as his own and wants to snatch what others have. Animals look for food to fill their stomachs, but human nature is that they want to collect as much as possible by snatching and fraudulently.

But apart from this, there are some people who dedicate their whole life to the service of humanity. They put everything at stake for the benefit of others. They are satisfied only with what they have, they have no interest in accumulating too much.

Today we are going to tell you about one such person who did not let his selfishness come in the way of his work and duty. If she wanted, she could have earned so much money from her success that many of his generations could live their life with luxury without hard work, but she did not intend to do so. She had to face many difficulties on this difficult path, he managed to break many times but she never gave up. What can be said about her generosity and humanity, the less it is. That person is Madam Curie.

Today we are going to talk about an incident that happened in the life of Madam Curie, who won the prestigious Nobel Prize twice. In 1898, Madame Curie and her husband Pierre Curie discovered radium. At that time both of them were facing a severe shortage of funds. She did not have enough money to buy the slag of uranium needed to extract radium. You must be aware that in order to extract only 10 grams of uranium pure, Madame Curie had purified 30 tons of uranium metal ores. That's why Pierre Curie wanted both of them to patent the method of making radium and earn a lot of money by selling it more and more and tell other industrial companies about this method and get a lot of money from royalty. But Madame Curie forbade him to do so.

Demonstrating his generosity for the good of humanity, she shared important secrets related to the production of radium with his fellow scientists and companies in the chemical industry.

After the method of production of radium became common, the demand for radium skyrocketed. Factories from America to all over Europe started producing it. Its reach was not limited to the scientific community only, but hobbyists also started buying it. Although not everyone had the right knowledge of the use of this element, yet everyone was fond of keeping this glowing green substance.

As a result, by 1920, the price of this element reached one million dollars per gram, and Madame Curie herself, who discovered it, could not afford it to continue her research.

When an American journalist asked him about this, he said that I have no regrets for not patenting radium. It is only one element that belongs to the entire human community. The whole human race should get its benefit. It is not just to enrich a person.

So you saw it! The element that Madame Curie discovered herself, by the end she could not even buy it. If she wanted, she could earn crores by patenting it, but her thought of human service prevented her from doing so and she was also happy with this human service. Perhaps in view of this service, the scientific community honored her with the Nobel Prize for the second time.
