Why do we place a wet cloth on the forehead of a patient suffering from high temperature?

Friends, you should have seen that when you was suffering from severe fewer, your mother had put a wet cloth on your forehead because she thought it would reduce your fever and it worked also every time. She might have not known the real fact behind this magic but you should know the scientific reason behind it.

When a person suffers from fever, his body temperature becomes more than the normal body temperature. If we put the wet stripe of the cloth on his forehead, the water evaporates after absorbing the heat from the body that cause cooling and lowering the body temperature of that person which results reduce in fever.
